redShift, the astronomy club at Columbia University, was founded by
undergraduate students in 2004. With over 100 members representing 10
Columbia University undergraduate and graduate schools and more than 30
academic fields, redShift thrives on its diversity, and seeks to engage
fun people with different perspectives and experiences.
redShift is dedicated to fostering an interest in astronomy and the
sciences among members of Columbia University as well as the larger New
York City community. redShift is an independent student organization,
recognized and funded by the Barnard College Student Government
Association and the Columbia University Department of Astronomy and
Astrophysics.
