McIntosh Activities Council
McIntosh Activities Council ("McAC") is the Student Events Programming Board of Barnard College. Our council is named after Millicent McIntosh, the fourth president of Barnard College, who always made it her priority to promote a strong sense of community, school spirit, and Barnard appreciation. In 1969, the McIntosh Student Center was named in her honor, and although that building no longer stands, her memory lives on in the events we bring to the Barnard students. Each semester we plan events such as Peanut Better & Jelly Sandwich making, One World Show, the Big Sub, the Emily Gregory Award, and, Midnight Breakfast. We also play an active role in planning Barnard Spirit Day (with the help of SGA), a day completely dedicated to celebrating Barnard.
Mission
Statement
McAC seeks to enhance
the sense of community on Barnard's campus by providing events that
bring the entire college together.
The five committees of McAC (Time-Out,
Network,
Multicultural,
Community,
and
Action) are comprised of Barnard students
who plan events
throughout the course of each semester. McAC strives to create programs
that are enjoyable, innovative, diverse and creative.
